Technical Theatre (Stagecraft and Costume Construction) Classes
Technical Theatre is a class that emphasizes the technical aspects of a play. It centers on building the set, costumes, props, and painting, as well as design lights and sound.
Technical Theatre students will be required to work crew hours afterschool for the Fall Show and the Musical.
The Stagecraft class will be responsible for building sets, props, lights, and sound
The Costume Construction class will be responsible for sewing costumes, handling wigs, hair, and makeup effects.
IB HL Theatre Arts
Grade: 9 - 12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1 credit per year; 0.5 per semester
Technical Theatre I is a full year theatre introductory survey course designed for the technical theatre student interested in fulfilling their Fine Arts credit. Students can choose to continue Technical Theatre at a more advanced level after completing Technical Theatre I.
THEATRE ARTS I-IV
Varsity Theatre Production is a class that emphasizes the performance and production components of plays. The class centers on the study of acting, but also includes all aspects of producing live theatre, including technical and business.
Varsity Theatre Production class will be required to participate in ALL LTTC productions, including, but not limited to: the Fall Show, the Musical, the Winter Show, and UIL One-Act Play. Both cast and crew for UIL One Act Play will be placed in this class. While auditioning for each show is not required, participating to some extent is required.
Junior Varsity Theatre Production I
Junior Varsity Theatre Production is an introductory theatre production course aimed for students interested in exploring advanced theatre, and is a prerequisite for Varsity Theatre Production.
Like Varsity Theatre Production, JV Theatre Production students are expected to participate in certain mainstage shows, but are required to participate in Lunchbox Theatre, one-time theatre performances held during a given lunch period once per semester.
Varsity Theatre Production II-IV
This course centers on theatre theory, creation, and analysis as well as the study of world theatre traditions.
The prerequisite is that you are a Junior or a Senior are willing to learn and apply the rigors of IB Theatre.
You may choose to be a part of LDP or just be in IB. If you desire to be a part of LDP, you must audition with a monologue.

Theatre Arts is a year-long introduction course into performance theatre, for students that would like to take theatre for their Fine Arts credit. Students may take more advanced Theatre Arts courses after completing Theatre Arts I.
