The Texas Thespians Chapter is an affiliate of the International Thespian Society, an educational theatre honor society. As such, we follow the national model for promoting excellence in middle school and high school theatre departments across Texas.

ITS

The International Thespian Society (ITS) is an honor society for high school and middle school theatre students. Thespian troupes serve students in grades 9-12. Festivals are held annually at the district, state and national levels. Membership currently stands at approximately 100,000 student members across 4,700 schools. The one millionth Thespian was inducted in 1976 and the two millionth Thespian was inducted in 2009. As of 2017, there have been over 2.3 million Thespians inducted.

THESPIANS TRIP

Every year our troupe goes to the Texas Thespian State Festival! Each year, Texas Thespians holds two conventions, one in Grapevine and Corpus Christ. We will be attending the Corpus Christi convention, from November 15 to November 18, 2024.

The first payment for this coming year’s Texas Thespians trip will be due this fall. If you require a fee waiver, please contact Steve Carpentier at steve.carpentier@houstonisd.org.
