The importance of theatre education
Per the Educational Theatre Association, “March is Theatre In Our Schools month, a time when we celebrate and raise awareness of the power of #TheatreInOurSchools to develop well-rounded, empathetic, and thoughtful leaders. It is a time when thousands of students, educators, and supporters join in grassroots campaigns that highlight how participation in school theatre programs helps students develop critical skills that will benefit them in their future careers regardless of whether they pursue arts after graduation”.
LTTC’s contribution to theatre in our schools month
Monday, March 24, join LTTC in welcoming Houston City Council Member Sallie Alcorn in proclaiming March 27 as Theatre In Our Schools Day, in accordance with Theatre In Our Schools Month in March.
Following the proclamation, we will be giving tours of our Black Box Theatre and speaking on the work we’ve done for TIOSM and our UIL One-Act Play, Nellie. The event will conclude with a FREE performance of Nellie. Light refreshments will be provided.
